Horse Desensitisation
Peaceful walks

Unpredictable Instincts
Our precious little dogs are on alert when they're outing about, and when they meet other animals, we can be unsure on how they'll react.
some dogs, depending on their breed have a natural instinct to chase. this comes from generations of selective breeding for herding or hunting, so when a dog sees a horse moving, instincts can kick in automatically.
It's important to remember that this doesn't make them "bad dogs". Chasing isn't always aggressive, it's instinct. With the right training, patience and gradual exposure, most dogs can learn to feel calm and comfortable around horses.
The key is giving them positive experiences so they understand that the horses aren't something to fear or control.
How It Works
I'll take your dog out on lead to a local stables my family has worked at for years to show your dog the environment, the smells and the stable horse to see how they react, i'll then follow a horse ride of x1 rider from a distance and gradually get closer until your dog has no interest. We'll then practise your dog seeing the horse do a trot in the distance to see if this triggers any instincts and continue until the desensitisation is complete.
All dogs are different and their process is individual.
